Since launching in 2000 we've helped to grow the legacy market to protect and improve market share for our member charities.
Our vision is a future where everyone across the UK is inspired and empowered to leave the world better and stronger by remembering the charities they care about in their Will.
Our ambitious strategy sets out a clear programme of work for the next five years to grow legacy giving across the UK and strengthen the environment that enables charitable gifts in Wills.
We aim to do this by focusing on four strategic priorities:
1. Inspiring the UK public to leave a charitable legacy
2. Embedding legacy giving across Will-writing and estate planning
3. Influencing government and decision-makers to protect and nurture the future of charitable legacies
4. Equipping and enabling our members to maximise their legacy fundraising

Measurable impact
By working together, we've seen a sustained increase in the number of people who include a charitable gift in their Will, from 14% in 2013 to 21% in 2024.
Speaking out for our members
We work hard to create a favourable legacy market. We were instrumental in lobbying the government to scrap the proposed hike in probate fees and retain the current inheritance tax rate relief.
Probate backlog update
We work closely with HM Courts & Tribunals Service to represent our members and provide regular updates.
