As part of its ambition to help build a bigger and stronger society, the Government is taking new steps to make giving as easy and compelling as possible.

The Government was therefore proud to support Remember A Charity Week. The Government co-signed letters to solicitors and cultural organisations to encourage them to get involved with the campaign. This included encouraging solicitors across England, Scotland and Wales to remind clients of the option of leaving a gift to charity when writing a will.

The UK Government has also introduced an inheritance tax reduction so that it is payable at a reduced rate of 36% (instead of 40%) when at least 10% of the estate’s net value is left to charity.
