Cabinet Office calls on Remember A Charity to grow giving

Cabinet Office's Giving White Paper names Remember A Charity as key to making gifts in Wills the social norm. The Cabinet Office's White Paper on Giving has called on Remember A Charity to encourage more people to consider charitable gifts in Wills. The Giving White Paper - One year on, says that the Government's objective is to make the UK a country where it is the social norm for people to give a small portion of their Will to charity. The Government has asked Remember A Charity and The Co-operative Legal Services, the official partner of the legacy consortium, to test small variations to the Will-writing process to establish the most effective ways of encouraging people to leave a legacy gift. This could raise a further £1 billion a year for good causes. Rob Cope, director of Remember A Charity, said: "The Government has set out a clear direction of travel of growing giving, with legacies at the heart of this change. "We are delighted to be working with the Cabinet Office to help raise millions for this country's most loved causes."
