Health, social care and disability charities are highlighted during Remember A Charity Week

Published on

Charities specialising in health, social care and disability have today been marking Remember A Charity Week and promoting the importance of legacies nationwide. The causes recently topped Cass Business School's legacy income table with three of the top five charities falling into the health category. According to the results, curing cancer remains the UK's greatest dying wish when writing a will and it is hoped that Remember A Charity Week will continue to highlight the importance of charitable gifts. Charities including Macmillan Cancer Support have been supporting the campaign all week, promoting the week in seven of their charity shops as well as using branded teabags in their "World's Biggest Coffee Mornings" nationwide. Arthritis Research UK have taken the campaign to the high street by branding all of their charity shops using window vinyls and teabags, whilst Leonard Cheshire Disability are using teabags in their "Newsrooms Got Talent" event, supported by high profile newsreaders and celebrities. RNIB are using the week to remind supporters about the importance of legacies. The campaign will be promoted using teabags at six "invite only" receptions for supporters, in addition to events in Bristol and Torquay showcasing RNIB's own version of the Legacies Through a Lens exhibition. Member hospices are also marking the week by running their own PR activities. The Shakespeare Hospice are promoting the week in their branded charity shop and are featured in the Legacies Through a Lens exhibition in the OXO Gallery.
