Remember A Charity and the Society of Will Writers join forces to champion gifts in Wills

Remember A Charity is delighted to announce a new partnership with the Society of Will Writers, helping to equip and inspire legal advisers to champion gifts in Wills in conversations with their Will-writing clients.
The Society of Will Writers (SWW) is a non-profit making self-regulatory organisation of over 1,700 estate planning professionals across the UK, Europe and further afield. With the SWW’s support, all member professionals commit to upholding high levels of ethical standards, and enabling the public access to high-quality Will Writing and Estate Planning services.
Remember A Charity’s Campaign Supporter scheme provides support and resources to a legal network of around 900 charity friendly solicitors and Will-writers. We’re pleased to be expanding the scheme’s qualifying criteria to enable SWW members to join - alongside members of The Law Society, STEP, the Institute of Professional Will-writers (IPW), The Association of Lifetime Lawyers, and BEST Foundation – in recognition of the SWW’s commitment to promoting the real need for individuals to have a valid Will, as well as the potential for them to include a gift to the charitable causes close to their heart.
Anthony Belcher, Director at SWW, says:
“The SWW has always placed an emphasis on supporting charitable causes and is proud to be associated with Remember A Charity. We encourage our members and student Will writers from the outset to support and help advise clients on the good that can be achieved through charitable legacies, and have also supported several charities ourselves.
Partnering with Remember A Charity felt like a natural step that allows us to help further our support for SWW members and their clients by helping more people to leave a gift to charity in their Will.’
Lucinda Frostick, Director of Remember A Charity, adds:
“Professional advisers have a crucial role to play in ensuring their clients are aware of the option of remembering a charity in their Will, while also taking care of their loved ones. We’re delighted to be working with the Society of Will Writers to be able to reach and engage even more charitably-minded advisers, providing resources and tools that will help them champion the charitable message with their clients.”
