Surge in legacy income predicted

Figures released by Legacy Foresight indicate that charities could be due a surge of legacy income, primarily from charitable estates in 2019-2020.

Analysts at the legacy research and forecasting arm of Legacy Futures believe that, based on previous legacy giving patterns, charities could be missing 30,000-40,000 gifts, worth between £800m and £1bn.

Probate delays may well be part of the issue, although there is a lack of certainty. More information will be provided on the probate situation in the upcoming HMCTS webinar.
