1 Dog At A Time Rescue UK

1 Dog At A Time Rescue UK is a group of volunteers who are dedicated to rescuing Romanian street and stray dogs and finding them loving homes here in the UK.

Our trusted rehoming programme has enabled hundreds of dogs to find new homes. We have a shelter in Bistrita, Romania, called Happy Tails, where we can bring the dogs to safety, so they can be kept warm, have regular meals and given lots of loving care and attention.

The dogs are given any veterinary treatment they need, and this is where we can assess the dogs and get them ready to travel to their new home in the UK.

1 Dog has helped fund neutering programmes out in Romania, which is such an essential part of the ‘Solution Circle’ for the Romanian dog problem alongside Sanctuary, Adoptions, Fostering and Education. It has been proven that Neuter and Return is the only long term solution.

Animal education in Romania is critical, and so 1 Dog is currently working with teachers around Bistrita to bring education programmes to the children for them to spread the message of Neutering, Compassion and Care.
