Our mission is to help those over 50 living in Southend on sea and surrounding areas to live healthier, happier and more independent lives and develop a community where older people can flourish.
Our aim is to help older people avoid social isolation and feelings of loneliness, to help them become more confident and remain independent in their own homes and to help them become fitter and healthier. We do this through a variety of ways including providing one-to -one support that provides friendship and helps people to stay living at home and group activities that offer opportunities to improve fitness, develop new skills, meet new friends and build confidence.
We also provide a specialist dementia day centre primarily for those living with dementia but also for people with other neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s disease and stroke victims. We offer high quality and reliable respite care for loved ones and carers. We believe that the centre is unique in that we offer our clients a daily programme of activities developed to meet their individual needs and interests and improve their health and wellbeing. We also arrange performances by singing groups and we have our own choir who perform twice per year to family and friends.
