Dogs Trust

Founded in 1891, Dogs Trust is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK. Our mission is to bring about the day when all dogs can enjoy a happy life, free from the threat of unnecessary destruction.

Here's what we do in a nutshell…

• Every year we care for roughly 14,000 dogs in need at our 21 rehoming centres around the UK.
• Our Dog School classes help owners all over the UK build confidence, understanding, and more nurturing relationships with their dogs.
• Our Education Officers give thousands of classroom presentations every year.
• Our FREEDOM Project helps pet owners who are fleeing domestic violence by fostering their animals while they start a new life.
• The HOPE Project gives preventative veterinary care to dogs belonging to homeless people.
• We advise government on any matters concerning dog ownership and animal welfare.

Dogs Trust relies completely on voluntary donations, with more than a third of our income coming from gifts in Wills.
