Last year Place2Be worked with over 900 schools around England, Scotland and Wales, reaching a school population of 142,000 children and young people; providing access to emotional and therapeutic support when it is needed most.
We believe early intervention is essential to ensure children’s lives are not defined by mental health issues. We also believe that delivering mental health support in schools is key as it reduces stigma, increases access and ensures we can support teachers, counsellors and parents as well as struggling children and young people.
Last year we ran almost 85,000 one-to-one counselling sessions, but our vision is to expand tenfold by 2025. To do so we need to train more volunteers so that children have someone to turn to.
