RNIB is here to make sure that losing your sight doesn’t mean losing out on life. RNIB provides vital practical and emotional support, to empower people to live the lives they want – in their homes, careers, and communities. Gifts left to RNIB in Wills fund almost a third of our work.

Kimberley Burrows (pictured above), was born with congenital cataracts, she then lost a lot of her vision due to double retinal detachment at the age of 28 in 2018.

She has always been an artist, since she was young with her love for illustration. After losing a lot of her sight Kimberley decided to change mediums in order to continue to pursue her passion for art.

"I’ve used RNIB Helpline to get advice from the Benefits Team with regards to becoming a freelance artist, how that will impact my income as a disabled person and what help I may be entitled to. Gifts in Wills help RNIB to provide the support and services that change lives.

Jim and Mary Callaghan were inspired to leave gifts in their Will to RNIB after their daughter suddenly needed our support. They visited RNIB Sunshine House, a specialist school for blind and partially sighted children with significant learning difficulties and disabilities aged 2 to 14 to see the difference we make.
