Every year in the UK, one million people are treated for facial injuries and diseases including mouth cancer, which often leave life-changing physical and emotional scars.
Saving Faces is the only charity in the UK solely dedicated to reducing the incidence of these conditions by funding and leading research projects, clinical audits and outreach programmes.
With over 20 years of research experience, we have improved patient care by publishing our nationwide mouth cancer SEND study which will save the lives of one in ten patients worldwide. That’s 30,000 lives saved each year.
Early detection of mouth cancer improves the chance of survival from 50 to 90%. The Saving Faces Diagnostic Advice Service (SFDADS) helps dentists identify mouth cancer and speed up the referral process to the correct surgeon.
Saving Faces funds NFORC, the UK’s national facial research centre. The centre runs clinical trials and head and neck cancer audits to assess cancer patients throughout hospitals in England and Wales, determining best treatment and hospital performance.
We run a patient-to-patient helpline, where we support people who are coming to terms with facial conditions or preparing for surgery by putting them in touch with former patients who have had a similar experience.

Facial surgery research is severely underfunded, despite the vast number of people with facial problems. By remembering Saving Faces in your Will, we can continue our pioneering research and ensure more patients survive.
With an unpaid CEO, we keep administration costs to a minimum.
